In any large system, the 'how to' for many actions often becomes a long 'to-do' list which involves additional user training and other complexity. CommonSpot now allows administrators/developers to customize the underlying core 'Command Engine' API to allow many of these 'to-do' items to be automated.

For example, if another application links to content in a CommonSpot site, a developer can implement customized notifications to this other application so content managers aren't required to update these links manually.

  • Customize what happens before and after specific actions.
  • Provide additional safeguards for specific content. For example, ensure that a home page can't be deleted, even by an administrator.
  • Minimize manual interaction with related applications.
